Football News | Mbappe scores four as France qualify for Qatar in style

France’s Kylian Mbappe scored his first hat-trick as the reigning world champions thrashed Kazakhstan to book their place in next year’s World Cup in Qatar.

Four of the eight goals were scored by Mbappe, with the striker’s first three coming in the first 30 minutes.

With a late fourth, he completed the rout.

After the intermission, Karim Benzema scored two goals. The other goal scorers were Adrien Rabiot and Antoine Griezmann, who each scored a penalty.

Mbappe’s hat-trick was the first by a France player since Dominique Rocheteau in 1985 in a competitive international.

In the sixth minute, he turned in an early cut-back before finishing a Kingsley Coman cross from close range and heading in a goal.
